Dorset Family History Society is hosting a meeting with Steve Roberts entitled 'Blue Plaques of Bournemouth'.

Steve Roberts is returning to give a talk on the many Blue Plaques of Bournemouth.

A Blue Plaque is a permanent sign installed in a public place to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person, event or former building on that site , serving as a historical marker. The official scheme was originally administered by English Heritage and was launched in 1866 in London, on the initiative of the politician William Ewart to mark the homes and workplaces of famous people.

Previously Steve has given talks on various subjects including, Jack the Ripper, Mr Selfridge, Dad’s Army and When Dorset made History.

 

Doors open at 7.00pm. Plenty of free parking (Please note the new venue).

£3 including tea/coffee & biscuits available up until 7.25pm.
