Dorset Family History Society will be hosting a meeting on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at Treetops Research Centre, Suite 5 Stanley House, 3 Fleets Lane, POOLE, Dorset, BH15 3AJ with a talk by STEVE ROBERTS entitled 'BOURNEMOUTH BLUE PLAQUES’. This was the talk which had to be re-arranged from earlier in the year.
A Blue Plaque is a permanent sign installed in a public place to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person, event or former building on that site , serving as a historical marker. The official scheme was originally administered by English Heritage and was launched in 1866 in London, on the initiative of the politician William Ewart to mark the homes and workplaces of famous people.
Steve Roberts has in the past delighted Dorset FHS with talks.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Plenty of free parking.
Entry is £3 to include tea/coffee and biscuits available up to 7.25pm.
