The Parish was the epicentre of local and church records prior to the introduction of civil registration, decennial censuses and Poor Law Unions in the 1830s. Parish records contain much more than baptism, marriage and burial registers. Other records include vestry records, overseer of the poor records and accounts, churchwarden’s accounts, settlement and removals, apprenticeships, bastardy examinations and much more. These records all help in discovering the lives of our ancestors. Learn what might be available and where it might be found.
