Dorset Family History Society is hosting a Zoom meeting with Helen Baggott entitled 'Hands Across the Ocean - True Stories of Emigration, Tragedy & Heroes'.
Helen has written for regional magazines, national magazines including This England, Discover your Ancestors, Who Do You Think you Are?, Picture Postcard Monthly and Dorset Life. Her work has been recognised by national newspapers as a “postcard detective” and an “heirloom detective”.
Beginning with postcards sent more than a hundred years ago, this new talk shares the true stories of determined people who sought new lives abroad and those that built some of the shipping lines that we recognise today, including a family connected with the bravery of the Kindertransport.
