IHGS Zoom Tutorial - Interpreting Historical Records for Family History Part 1: Manorial with Dr Caroline Adams

This short course is designed for anyone interested in learning how to read and understand some of the most valuable historical documents. We will explore manorial records, quarter sessions records, and wills and probate. Practical examples will help to familiarise you with the handwriting and terminology, and gain valuable experience in reading the documents. The course is suitable for those who wish to develop their skills and make better use of original sources.

Our online tutorials provide guidance on a broad range of topics. They are open to everyone.

In order to be able to join the tutorial you will need access to ZOOM. On the day of the Tutorial you will be sent a unique ID and password.

Please allow for two hours for the session, including joining and discussions. The talk will last approximately an hour.
