The sources we rely on for our family histories provide information, but the analysis of that information, the extraction of evidence and formulation into proof is seldom talked about in genealogy circles, especially in the UK. This talk will discuss sources, information and evidence, how to categorise them and use them effectively to solve family history problems. It will introduce the Genealogical Proof Standard and answer the question of “What is Proof?”
