Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society Meeting 7th October
Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society next meets at 7:30pm, Wednesday 7th October 2026.
The Story of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is the title of the illustrated talk - presented by Andy Relf. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is regarded as the first female to qualify as a Doctor in the UK. The talk follows her and her influential family (see note below) and the Firsts she achieved. However she was not the first female doctor globally. Her career path was influenced by others, however she helped women following her change their role in medicine and in other ways around the world.
