Dr Hill lectured at the University of Surrey in history and is now a freelance lecturer and researcher. She is an elected member of the Royal Historical Society and has written many articles for academic historical journals. Besides giving lectures in this country Dr Hill has undertaken work in Canada USA and Sri Lanka.
